I discovered the secret behind KFC’s fried chicken – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, a true delight.

Crispy Fried Chicken (KFC Style)

Ingredients:

For seasoning the chicken:

  • 500g of chicken (chopped chicken breast)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • Salt to taste

For the batter:

  • 2 eggs
  • Garlic powder to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch (or corn flour)
  • 500 ml of water
  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • A pinch of salt
  • Paprika to taste (traditional, smoked, or spicy)

For coating:

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • More salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken with lemon, paprika, and salt, mixing well.
  2. Prepare the batter: Beat the eggs with garlic powder, salt, and cornstarch, then add water and all-purpose flour, mixing until smooth. Add paprika to taste.
  3. For coating, mix all-purpose flour with salt. Dip the chicken in the batter, then coat it in the seasoned flour, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  4. Heat oil (not too hot) and fry the chicken until crispy and golden. Do not fry with cold oil to avoid sogginess.
